Heb 11:1&6 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen... But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Is Barack Obama a Christian? Every president of the United States has claimed to be a Christian. John F. Kennedy was a Catholic, all the rest were Protestants. Does it matter if our president is a Christian? It matters because morality is based on God’s word. Right and wrong are determined by what God says, not what we believe or feel. In an interview in January 2008, Barack Obama said, “Accepting Jesus Christ in my life has been a powerful guide for my conduct and my values and my ideals.” That sounds like something a Christian would say. However, in July of 2008 in another interview Barack said, “I'm on my own faith journey and I'm searching…I leave open the possibility that I'm entirely wrong.” That is something a Christian would never say. The Bible doesn’t teach a “hope so” salvation. The Bible teaches a “know so” salvation. 1John 5:13 says “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life…” Barack Obama does not have a biblical world view. His views on abortion are unbiblical. Proverbs 6:17 states, that God hates “hands that shed innocent blood.” His position on homosexuality is also unbiblical. He attended a church for twenty years that taught black liberation theology. One of the main teachings of this humanist doctrine is redistribution of wealth. This is Marxist and unbiblical. Romans 8:14 says, “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” Only God and Barack Obama know if he is a true Christian. The thing that you need to settle is “are you a Christian?

Is it possible to be a Christian and believe in Darwin’s theory of evolution? No, the Bible is diametrically opposite of Darwin’s teaching. John 1:1-3 says “In the beginning was the Word [Christ], and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” If you are a believer in Christ you will believe His teachings. If you don’t believe His teachings you are not a Christian because you are calling Him a liar. How can you have faith in someone who you believe is a liar? This past February 13-15 was Evolution Weekend and over a thousand churches participated. February 12, 2009 was Charles Darwin’s 200th birthday. Pastors who participated preached messages about the harmony of Darwin’s theory of evolution and the biblical account of creation. These pastors should find another line of work because evolution and creation are like oil and water, they won’t mix. A pastor or spiritual leader who teaches that it’s ok to believe in evolution is the biggest thief this side of Hell. If they are making a living from preaching the Bible which they don’t believe they are hypocrites and they are robbing people of their most valuable possession, their eternal soul. Evolution is anti-bible. God created man in His own image (Genesis 1:26). If man evolved into God’s image then God must have looked like a monkey or an ape. Some people believe in theistic-evolution. Only a dishonest thinker could say he/she believed in theistic-evolution because the Bible teaches that man sinned and needs a savior. Evolution teaches that man is getting better. Evolution chops down the need for the cross of Christ.

Well, 2008 is gone forever, swallowed in the tomb of time. As we begin a new year none of us know what 2009 holds. Will there be another terrorist attack on our country? How many friends or family members will pass away this year? Will this be the year Christ returns? Will the economy improve or get worse? Since we do not know what the future holds we should live each moment to the fullest. As we get older we realize how precious time is. James 4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. None of us know when we will take our last breath. Therefore it is incumbent upon us to be prepared by repenting of our sin receiving Christ as our savior. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. As Christians we are anticipating the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. All the prophecies were fulfilled to the letter concerning His first coming. We can be sure the prophecies concerning His second coming will also be fulfilled. Matthew 24:42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. 1John 2:28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. We don’t know what the future holds but we know who holds the future. 2Corinthians 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) As long as our faith is in God we don’t have to worry.

What is the meaning of Christmas? Christmas means different things to different people. We all think of Christmas trees, presents, Santa Claus and getting together with our families at Christmas time. Many people never think about the birth of Christ and the importance of this event. Isa 9:6 -7 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the
government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful,
Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace
there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order
it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for
ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. God has a plan for the ages. Christmas was a big and necessary part of His plan. Jesus came into this world through the womb of a virgin for two reasons. His first reason was to provide salvation for sinful mankind. The Lord Jesus Christ is God’s love-gift to the world. Without his atoning death on the cross none of us would have a chance to have a relationship with our Creator in this life or the life to come.
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become
the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: The only way to get a gift is to receive it. You can’t work for gift because it is
free. Why don’t you receive God’s gift
of eternal life through faith in His death, burial and resurrection to pay the
price for your sins? God wants to save
you and make you His child if you will only trust Him. At Christ’s first coming He came to provide salvation to those who trust Him. He is coming back again to set up His Kingdom and rule the world. The prophecies concerning His first coming came to pass literally. The prophecies concerning His second coming will also come to pass literally. Will you be a part of His coming kingdom? You will only if you receive God’s love-gift and experience the true meaning of Christmas.
